. Hi Sam.
Please, describe your art in few words.

I would describe some of my work as surrealist ethnography...the study of the absurd, and the obsessions of contemporary culture. Arbitrary scenarios, juxtaposing enigmatic titles against strange depictions of misshapen characters accompanied by simple, almost childlike text. working both with and against the elements of the cartoon form.

NEW YORK series

. Your characters are so ambiguous, while looking at them you never know if they're good or evil. What are they?

I prefer to keep my characters ambiguous...They represent the everyman (or woman..or baby..or dog..etc) Blob like and without definition. Their faces always neutral. This allows the viewer to decide for themselves whether the piece is sinister, naive, funny or ridiculous ( hopefully all them )...like all art..I think its better to let the observer decide for themselves.

. What's your biggest ambition in life?

I would like to continue to dredge from the unconscious of this globalized monoculture....Continue painting, drawing, and moving back and forth between styles...and try not to take it all to seriously.
