Hi dudes!
The link below is an interview with the italian artist Silvia Idili
for A Bad Crit http://abadcrit.tumblr.com/post/593057371/interview-with-silvia-idili - a revolution for the underdogs.
"This group is about hearing the voices of the people who have been discounted because of their lack of a voice and their lack of access to the resources necessary to realize their fullest potential.
The job of an educator and a mentor is to facilitate an environment in which students and emerging artists of any discipline can flourish and succeed no matter their starting point. It is not the job of an educator and mentor to put people down and make them feel as though they are doomed just because they aren't at the same skill level as other, more recognized artists.
It is the mission and intention of A Bad Crit to share with the public the stories of non-constructive criticism and how it has shaped their careers and lives, not to mention their self images.
As an artist who was discounted by many people and teachers for years, I feel it is my personal mission to make sure that people are cultivated and to reach out to artists who feel that they aren't "good enough" and to teach them how to grow and learn to find their unique voice."
Thank you Daniel and all the great stuff from A Bad Crit for giving me the chance to help you out with this cool initiative. I'm honored to be part of this.
Let art BE.
PS Silvia Idili is into
